Seahorses (3-4 yr. olds)

Seahorses are naturally inquisitive, active individuals who enjoy learning through hands-on activities. This is the age of investigation and exploration.

To capture this group’s attention we observe bugs with magnifying glasses, count gold coins, build cities with blocks, sort by color and shape, and cut paper (yes with scissors). We promote and encourage independent skills like putting on socks, shoes and jackets.

Conversations may include discussions about the weather, dinosaurs, farmers, the favorite princess or super hero of the week, and many more topics on a daily basis.  Children enjoy the responsibility of being a “job helper” assisting with snacks, leading the line, giving the weather report and assisting the teacher.  Our Seahorse classroom consists of a group of 18 children 3-4 years of age.
