Minnows (6 weeks-24 months)

The first three years of life are a time of tremendous development and growth.  Development in one area affects and is influenced by development in all other areas.  This is why it is important for teachers to observe and respond to all areas of development.

SDCC Minnows class consists of 6 children with a staff ratio of 1:3. Our lessons are guided by developmental milestones. Children enjoy opportunities ranging from “tummy time”, crawling through tunnels, sitting up to play peek-a-boo to pulling up to a standing position, taking first steps, laughing with friends and playing on the playground.  Our teachers provide a warm, nurturing environment to encourage and develop a trusting relationship with each child and family.  Teachers communicate with families to personalize care for each child based on his or her unique schedule, nutritional guidelines, and any other special attention a child requires.
